Amherst Lions Club

The Amherst NH Lions Club has been serving the Amherst community for nearly 50 years. Our 50+ members have held events and fundraisers over these many years to raise funds for those in need, particularly those with sight and hearing disabilities. We are “Knights of the Blind”. We also donate funds for others in need, like Share Food Bank, Anne Marie House, Bridges, Meals on Wheels, scholarships and holiday food baskets. We do sight and hearing screenings at the local kindergarten, first grade and preschools, and all our in-person events.

During the pandemic, we could not hold our normal in person events, but quickly found ways to have fundraisers online. We held our first Calendar Raffle and Wood Flower Fundraiser. We were really hoping that we could have had our 40th Annual Craft Fair, but because of Covid we couldn’t, and instead we held our Silent Auction part of the Craft Fair online. It was a great success and fun.

We have continued to beautify the Bridge of Flowers with not only annuals in planters on the rails, but also perennials in beds around the bridge. With the Welcome sign, all who drive by are made to smile.

This year, we’re holding the Citizens of the Year announcement for both 2020 and 2021 at the Reverse Parade at Souhegan High School. We will be live streaming the announcement on our Amherst Lions Club, Amherst NH, and Amherst Residents Only Facebook pages. For anyone who missed it, we’ll have it posted on our website.
